Crested coots are amongst the pinnacles of the park, reintroduced here and succesfully breeding in small numbers. One pair resides in a small lagoon by the path between Sa Roca II and the center bridge, one of the must busy areas of the park with hundreds of people walking past every day. There are signs not to feed the birds, but it's evident people do it anyway since the Crested coots walk right up to you if you stand still. I had to back up from the bird since it kept walking within the minimum focusing distance of my lens!
